Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. 1st Edition. First UK edition, first impression. Some slight edge wear to top and bottom of jacket and spine, spine slightly sunned, not price clipped (£2.60), no inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall a vg+ copy for its age, publisher's co…mpliment slip tipped in so this may be a review copy. 210pp. Efraim Sevela (1928-2010), was a Russian writer, screenwriter, director, producer, who after his emigration from the Soviet Union lived in Israel, USA and Russia and fought in the Yom Kippur War where he was wounded. This book centres around one of the great tragedies of our time, the murder of millions of European Jews during WWII. The author heads back to a tiny barber shop after the war and finds the few remaining Jews in Vilnius reunited to tell their stories. He takes tales of woe and makes you laugh through the tears and disbelief. Jacket by Timothy Jacques (ilustrador).
