From Preface: When I became Den of the College of Liberal Arts four years ago, it was the dream of many of us to establish a journal that would showcase the best of students' creative efforts -- not another literary journal per se, but a publication that would reproduce some of our lively original art and new music, award-winning history and geography essays, and knotty philosophical dialogues. We desired a special way of re-thinking critical issues confronted by our students and colleagues from sociology and criminal justice, as well as a method of re-examining the timely messages the distinguished guests from political science delivered or our theatre artists presented on stage.
