Condición: Average. . xv + 840 pages, based on Charles Annandale's "Concise Dictionary of the English Language", which in turn was based on John Ogilvie's large two-volume "Imperial Dictionary", thus presumably representing a third generation of Scottish lexicographers. Printed under War Economy Standards and therefore probably from the 1940s.

Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. Not dated - circa mid 1950s. Edition and printing not known. In very good textured dark blue cloth boards, gilt titles to front and spine and with gilt decoration on spine. The boards are flat and clean; slightly loose from cracked hinge; spine ends show a little wear. Unmarked blue end papers. The text block is illustrated with seven bright coloured plates and many black and white illustrations, plus coloured maps to rear. The pages are printed in three columns and are tightly bound, even and clean. With thumb grips on fore cut edge. No dedications etc. Without jacket. Very heavy.
