Illustrated t.p. + 68 (inc .prelims); brown tanning spots to last 3 pages and front end-paper otherwise clean tight and unmarked but an attractive little signed ownership label to front end-paper with a rabbit reading a book. The title story actually goes up top.10, this is followed by a further illustrated t.p. for 'The Holly Tree' which is in 3 'branches' (i.e. chapters). Several small decorated initials and end-pieces. An apparently scarce Dickens item, cannot locate when these storoes were originally published. 10 cm x 15.5 cm.

Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. Hardcover with eggshell white cloth over boards, black lettering and golden embellishment across front and spine. A few faint scuffs on covers, likely due to shelf wear, corners gently bumped. Exterior otherwise clean. Oversized, roughly 9 inches wide by 12 inches tall. No date on title page or copyright page. 128 pages. Features simple illustrated borders around text of poem, numerous colorful illustrative plates by Doris M. Palmer throughout text. Pages clean, lightly and evenly toned, plates still glossy. Bookplate from former owner placed on front attached endpaper. The covers show light soiling, edge-wear, and rubbing to the corners and spine-ends. The text-block is beginning to separate at a few spots but with the binding still solid. The contents are bright and clean with nice, color, tipped-in illustrations. There is some toning to the outer edge of a few pages and toning/light foxing to the end-pages.
