Ligeras manchas de oxidación. Domingo La Ripa (Hecho, Huesca, 1622-1696), entre otros muchos cargos, fue catedrático en la Universidad de Huesca, prior mayor del monasterio benedictino de San Juan de la Peña y cronista de la Corona de Aragón. Su obra fue encargada por la Diputación del Reino en respuesta a los Anales del Reino de Navarra escritos por José Moret, donde ponía en duda la realidad histórica el reino de Sobrarbe, sobre todo tal como había sido relatada por los historiadores Jerónimo de Blancas y Juan Briz Martínez.
