Helpful, accessible text in double column, and nearly 150 plates of which 80 are in full, glorious color, mostly being tipped in, and some being full page. A bit of very mild dust soiling along bottom edge, else a virtually pristine interior. Volume contains scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, showing only very minor wear, protected by a plastic coat, dust jacket not being price-clipped. Housed in a Good condition, still structurally sound but unlovely, moderately worn, illustrated cardboard slip-case. The text is almost as much about New Zealand history as about its painters, sculptors, etchers and collage artists.
