The southern Africa species of the genera Misumena, Misumenops, Runcinia and Thomisus are revised. A diagnosis and new distribution records are provided for the genus Runcinia in addition to the description of a new species. These genera belong to the Misumena-group of genera of the subfamily Misumeninae. Keys are provided to the subfamilies, genera and species. Biological and distributional data for all species are given. Twenty-five species are recognized, one new species is described and 13 species and eight species are synonymized.
