The dust jacket is fine with an intact price. Peter Hunt was well known on Cape Cod as a folk artist and colorful character. His art is still loved and collected by many around New England. I recently saw many of his pieces in an auction catalog from Eldred's, due to be sold in an upcoming auction in early summer of 2026. This is a sort of biographical fiction that reads like a novel. Which is fitting for Peter Hunt, whose whole life story was partially invented by himself, while remaining as close as possible to the known true facts and events of Hunt's life. Eric Linder, his friend, quotes from the book in his back cover blurb; "Peter Hunt was a terrible - and wonderful - liar", which he says sums up the life of this extraordinary artist and person. His life was layered with stories, fabrications, and camouflage.
