Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition, Special Edition. by Dilwyn Rees, pen name of Gyn Edmund Daniel. London: Victor Gollancz Ltd., 1948. First edition, SECOND printing. "Second impression (first cheap edition) January 1948" statement to the copyright page, 1948 printed to the title page. The first printing was published in 1945. Illustrated with a crime scene area map. The first of two cleverly plotted mysteries featuring scientific investigator, theorist, and archaeologist Sir Richard Cherrington, who works with Scotland Yard and police inspectors. This debut entry has continuous chapters in a novel form, comprising four 'books', each with a separate murder to solve involving the University. Daniel was an archaeologist, scientist, teacher at Cambridge, BBC tv archaeologist 'Buried Treasure' series host, and host of the tv game show 'Animal, Vegetable, Mineral?' with frequent guest, Sir Mortimer Wheeler, who is portrayed as the thinly veiled feature mystery character, Sir Richard Cherrington. A few pages with a tan finger-print-sized stain to the upper page ends, spine faded, rub-wear to the lower spine edge, minor soils to the covers, light page age-toning as usual, else about very good in blue linen with dulled gilt titles to the spine; lacking a dust jacket.…
