In 1909 he immigrated to the United States where he experienced years of hunger and hard physical labor. As a poet, he was affiliated with the New York impressionistic movement Di Yunge. His melancholy lyrics were published in anthologies and in the book Gele Bleter (Yellow Leaves, 1919). A more complete edition of his work, Lider fun A. M. Dillon, appeared in 1935."
