The author looks at a variety of cults and groups as well as the rise of using these techniques to control people as was done at Jonestown by Jim Jones. This is a FASCINATING book, and while the reader may not agree with everything stated in this book, you will learn some quite interesting things that mainstream books about Jonestown and Jim Jones fail to delve into. Most of the books about Jonestown do not look very carefully or indepth about how Jones was able to "make" over 900 people commit suicide in a tropical jungle.
