Añadir al carritoCondición: Fine. SIGNED, "Jacob Devers" on 6.75" x 5.75" B&W photograh including: Jean de Lattre de Tassigny, the youngest French General at the start of WWII and only to command large numbers of American Troops; GEN George C. Marshall, Chief of Staff of the U. S. Army; and Gen. Goisland Du Montsabert who commanded French troops in North Africa and co-operated with the Allies. Identifying incription on the verso indicates the photo was taken in Alsace, 1945. LTG Devers was the second ranking American officer in the European theater during WW II after Eisenhower. He wore four "hats" for the operation: Deputy Supreme Allied Commander, Mediterranean Theater; Commanding General NATOUSA; Commander, Advanced Detachment AFHQ; and Commanding General, 6th Army Group. Devers was appointed to these positions based upon his administrative qualifications. However, he spent a great deal of his time at the front, arriving on Anzio beach the day after the invasion. During his career he advanced the usage of battlefield weapons including the Sherman tank and the M-16 rifle.

Añadir al carritoCondición: Très bon. Ed. originale. This card is 3 1/2 by 5 inches in size, folds out to 7 by 5 inches, four pages, dated "EUROPE 1945" and in very good condition. It was issued by Lt. Gen Jacob L. Devers, Commander of the Sixth Army Group. It contains very interesting reading about how to treat the German people.
