Slightly bowed; spine rubbed at tips and boards showing wear at edge. Rear white panel lightly surface soiled. Contents clean; no annotation or inscriptions. A Very Good copy. Scarce photographic survey of the post-war scene in London, including Petticoat Lane market, the bookshops on Charing Cross Road, Waterloo Bridge and many familiar street-scapes. Eileen Olive Deste (1908-1986) was born in Croydon but emigrated to New Zealand for many years, becoming the official photographer for the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition before returning to London in the 1940s; much of heer work is in the Historic England Archive.…
