Original printed wrappers. = An extremely detailed monograph of this little known helicid snail, with a plethora of data and illustrations. Many of the 28 figures are in fact groups of many individual drawings showing the variability in shell parts, anatomy, colouring, etc., etc. Written by the German malacologist Eduard Degner (1886-1979) and published in the Museum's Mitteilungen, together with two much smaller papers, viz. one on Holothuria, and the other being an eight pages obituary of the German malacologist and cephalopod specialist Georg Pfeffer who died five (!) years earlier. With a fine, tissue-guarded portrait of Pfeffer, and a list of his scientific (malacological) contributions. Uncut. Wrappers a bit frayed and chipped at edges; stamp on front wrapper; otherwise a very good, clean copy. Rare.…
