Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. 1st Edition. First American Edition (Number Line to 1; 'First published in the United States of America' ). This book was preceded by a Limited Edition. Both the book and the jacket are in excellent condition. You can see the covers of the book in the photos. They're perfectly clean. The gilt lettering on the spine is nicely bright. The edge design on the front looks terrific. The edges and corners are in excellent shape, no rubbing. The page edges are perfectly clean. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The interior the book looks terrific. The inside covers and end papers present a marbled design. They are all in excellent condition. I'm not seeing any issues with the pages. They are exceptionally clean. I'm not finding any instances of soiling. They are all nicely bright. The paper is semi-glossy. Its nicely thick. I'm not finding any wear, not seeing any creasing. The illustrations are beautiful. There are no markings in the book. There are no attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. The dust jacket is in excellent condition as well. I've always had it in a fitted protective cover (unfortunately protective covers attract glare, and the glare is nearly impossible to elude, so keep that in mind as you look at the photographs). The jacket is very clean. The coloring of the front cover, as you can see, has both green and blue in it. I like the effect, but the blue wasn't original to it, the sun is partial to blue. There is a little crinkle above the front bottom corner, a few tiny scratches beside the front middle edge. There are no tears on the jacket. The flaps are in excellent condition, very clean, no wear, ignore the glare. The front one is green, only green, the rear one is red. The jacket is not priced or clipped. I've priced the book as the least expensive one with a dust jacket, despite its excellent condition. From the dust jacket: 'Trained as both architects and historians, Andrew Zega and Bernd H. Dams are skilled artists known for their expert restitutions of historic buildings, rendered in a realistic watercolor technique that has become their trademark. Here they delve into the Chinoiserie style of Europe, fanciful and exotic designs that drew their inspiration from the mysteries of the distant East. Reaching its peak in the late eighteenth century, the vogue for these graceful yet ephemeral structures-- fantastical pavilions, picturesque pagodas and luxurious tents-- created charming settings for the divertissements of the day. Originally published as a limited-edition collector's volume (that apparently sold for $1,100 each) this affordable reprinted edition presents forty-two captivating images in vibrant color, the culmination of more than a decade of study of European and American architecture and garden ornament. Some delve into the past to depict exceptional structures of a predominantly French style; others are beautifully detailed works inspired by historical designs that were never executed. All perfectly capture the sense of whimsy and sheer joy inherent in the Chinoiserie style.'.
