Añadir al carritoCondición: Good. - sc - An original 30 inch high by 23-1/4 inch wide color poster on heavy stock, designed by Paul Davis for the Parrish Art Museum exhibition. The title "Moonlight and Roses" is printed in calligraphic style across the sky and full moon above the performers on the stage below. A suave male performer with mustache, wearing a tux with roses in the jacket's lapel, stands holding the arms of two women at his sides. Possibly twins, the women are attired in white ballroom dresses. Two giant red roses are offset on either side of the stage at bottom. The text below the image reads: "The Parrish Art Museum / August 11, 1984 / Southampton, New York". The artist's name "Paul Davis" and the date are printed at the bottom right of the image. The corners are creased and the right and left edges are slightly creased and rubbed. The American graphic artist Paul Brooks Davis (born 1938) produced his first commissioned illustration in 1959 while still a student. It was a pencil drawing that appeared in the October 1959 issue of Playboy Magazine. He worked for Milton Glaser and Seymour Chwast at the Push Pin Studios. He was soon in demand and produced illustrations for record album covers, dust jackets, magazines and advertising, his work appearing in countless major periodicals. His clients included Disney, Lincoln Center, Rolling Stone, Yahoo, Adobe, A&E Television and, from 1984 through 1992, he was art director for Joseph Papp's New York Shakespeare Festival. His work is found in the collections of major museums and institutions throughout the world and has appeared as set pieces in many movies and TV shows.
