Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book is an adventurous account of the author's ascents of five of the most challenging peaks in the Dolomites - the Croda da Lago, the Kleine Zinne, the Grosse Zinne, the Cinque Torri, and the Langkofel. The Dolomites presented mountaineers with their last untrodden Alpine peaks for many years, and this book explores the excitement of early ascents, describing the techniques and ingenuity used to conquer these unique rock mountains. The book also explores the broader context of the Dolomites within the history of mountaineering, and provides insights into the thrill and allure of challenging the most formidable peaks. With vibrant descriptions and historical context, this book captures the intrepid spirit of mountaineering and provides a fascinating account of the conquest of some of the most beautiful and challenging mountains in the world. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
