A rare, UK copy. 2000 of the greatest paintings in the world described and annotated by 29 authors, including David Bazandall, Jean Cassou, Cornelius Muller Hofstede, Carl Nordenfalk, Sir John Rothenstein, and Sanchez Canton. Includes 441 colour plates and 404 monochrome illustrations. Translated from the original German (1960) by Peter Gorge. This book is bound in a white cloth hardcover protected by an illustrated dust jacket. The book itself seems to be in very good condition, with a sturdy binding and all components intact. The pages are slightly foxed, but this does not diminish the quality of the illustrations or text. The dust jacket is less well-preserved, showing more wear and fading, although it remains acceptable and fully intact. It has been taped to the inside front cover, causing some staining to the pages. There is also a personal inscription written in blue ink dated 1962. Disclaimer: Postage rates may be subject to change depending on the weight of the books.
