Extracts from the Bengal and Indian Army Lists for the years 1839, 1844, 1857, 1914 and 1923 are inserted in the main text. The 1st and 3rd Lancers were amalgamated in 1921 to form the 1st/3rd Cavalry. The title was changed again in 1922 to the 1st Duke of Yorkâs Own Skinnerâs Horse. Honours and Awards (all ranks, with Gazette details), List of Commandants and Officers serving in 1922.

"John Major's autobiography is one of the most personal and revealing ever written by a former British Prime Minister. Eagerly awaited, the account of his childhood, rise and fall is scrupulous and unsparing. Major's early life was extraordinary; his rise through Parliament meteoric. The spine has slight fading to the bottom left hand corner. The top of the spine has very minor rubs. The rear board has a white mark to the top left hand corner. The front inside board has a long inscription,nearly completely obscured by the front flap. The front end paper has minor foxing as does the text block. The remainder of the book is clean and bright and the binding is tight. Dust wrapper/ The front cover has some minor loss to the top right and left corners. the bottom left hand corner has a 2cm closed tear and minor rubs. The bottom right hand corner has a small nick. There are rubs and some loss to the top of the spine, not affecting the title. The bottom edge of the spine has a crease and some rubs, but no loss. The back cover has a crease to the bottom edge. The rear flap has a crease running from the bottom edge almost to the top. Not price cut. The rear of the jacket is clean and complete.
