I am pleased to be able to offer a scarce copy of a book by the Artist Roberto DaCosta, titled: In the Mind s Eye A Journey into the Mind of Roberto DaCosta. This large hard cover book (10 ¾ x 11 inches, 153 extra weight pages) was published by the Avatar Art Press, dated 1999. The book is bound in a richly woven oatmeal cloth with bronze gilt titles in English and Spanish on the cover and spine. It is protected by a once glossy, pictorial dust jacket. This book is bilingual, presented in both English and Spanish. From the flap of the dust jacket, I quote: "In the first half of the book we are invited into the artist's life through an autobiography describing his paths to discovering his talents in childhood. He shares with us the life choices that allowed him to use his talents while raising a family and running several businesses. His inevitable return to his roots as an artist can be seen in his paintings, which span four decades. The second half of the book presents works rendered using the composition and design aspects of art mastered over the years." The book is inscribed with affection by the Artist on the first blank page. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket shows a good deal of scuffing to the glossy finish, and some minor edge wear, particularly along the top edge. The hard covers and their gilt titles are still bright and gorgeous with no bumping. Inside, the book is unmarked except for the Artist s inscription and the interior pages and plates are clean, bright and fully presentable throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight, sound and square. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
