Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: Good. None Ilustrador. A very scarce, first English edition of this exhilarating Lost World novel set in the Amazon jungles, written by Brazilian novelist Gastao Cruls. The first English edition, with the first edition being published in Brazil in 1925.Very scarce work.Bound in the publisher's original paper wraps.Written by Brazilian novelist, Gastao Cruls, who was best known for this particular novel. Cruls spent a great deal of his life travelling, with his varied and exciting experiences inspiring much of his writing. This thrilling Lost World novel is set in the depths of the Amazon Jungle during the First World War, with an intriguing take on Amazonian mythology, with Inca tribes, Amazonian warriors, werewolves and an experimental German scientist thrown into the mix. This novel was said to be inspired by H. G. Wells' 'The Island of Dr. Moreau', and led to many adaptations of the work into comic and film. With a map of the Amazon to the endpapers. Bound in the publisher's original paper wraps. Externally, generally smart, with light edge wear and tears to the head and tail of the front joint. Wraps are age toned, with the odd mark. Pencil inscription to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age toned but clean. Good. book.
