Condición: Very Good. 1st Edition. pp.xv, 50 pages followed by 40 full page plates, 14" x 10", overall a very good hardback, publisher's original dark red cloth binding with gilt lettering to the front cover. There are a few insignificant blotches to the covers, and the cloth only on the spine has required repair (strengthened) after a tear. The binding has remained as strong as ever, and internally the book is excellent!

Front board has a circular watermark that has affected the cloth at top corner and this has affected the pages in the early introductory and preface leaves at the top edge also, reducing. The plates remain unaffected and in clean tidy state. The remainder of the maroon cloth and gilt boards are very good. Complete with fifty nine plates, some of which are double page, and one of which (South Kyme, Lincolnshire) is not mentioned in the list of plates; all this is in addition to the engraved title page in red and black. The churches featured are St. Andrews in Lincolnshire, St. Mary's Chapel of the Preceptory of the Knights Templar, Warwickshire, St. Dionysius, Lincolnshire, St. Stephen's, Northamptonshire, St. John's, Norfolk, Collegiate Church of Christ, Manchester, All Saints, Lincolnshire, and St. Mary and Nicholas, Cheshire. Most of the plates are architectural plans or illustrations of moldings, doorways, and other embellishments, with a few views of the churches.
