First Edition. 16 x 19.5cm. Paperback in red plastic wraps, unpaginated [approx. 60pp]. Text in dual English and Chinese. O Zhang is a Chinese-born artist and photographer best known for her images of Chinese youth such as those depicted in this full-colour exhibition catalogue showcasing work shown at CRG Gallery, New York, fro…m December 12th 2008 to January 31st 2009. Zhang was trained as an oil painter at the Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing before moving to London, then on to New York. This particular exhibition juxtaposes Zhang's portrait photography taken around the time of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics with the legacy of Mao Zedong's Chinese Cultural Revolution and its propaganda slogans. The book's red covers recall that of The Little Red Book (i.e. Quotations from Chairman Mao Zedong). Rare.
