Volumes 1-4 have 1920 with no later printings listed and volumes 5-6 have 1921 with no later printings listed. Bound in black cloth with the title and spine decorations gold-stamped. The color pastedowns on the front covers are bright with no scuffs, no scratches. Typically volume 1 In the Nursery is in bad condition from over use and mothers allowing baby to play with the book. This is NOT the case with this set. All six volumes in fine to near fine condition. Only fault is the lower fore-edge corners of 10 pages (leaves) of vol 1 are torn away. This does not affect the text on those pages. Pages are tight and clean with no marks. no scribbles, no crayon. No name of previous owner. No musty odor. no water damage. No soiling. No sun fading. A nice set of this classic work for children.
