Minor shelf wear, rubbing and bumping. Edges and end papers dust dulled. Remnants of a paper label (possibly from an auction catalogue?) on front pas…te down. Mild damp stain to front and rear end papers. One or two pencil drawings (sails ?). Internally very tight and clean.Complete with 21 Plates, of which 8 are folding. The Author, Wallop BRABAZON was born in Ireland in 1813. Lived at Portland Place, London for several years. He returned to Ireland in the mid-1840s, where he lived for two years in Newport, Co Mayo. He returned to Rath and by 1847 had written 'The Deep Sea and Coast Fisheries of Ireland' (Dublin, 1848). He later lived at Tracton House, Dublin. Wallop died at 55 Carysfort Avenue, (known as Holly Court), Blackrock, Co. Dublin on 17th April 1890.
