The book's publisher's text specifically identifies this map as being tucked into the back-cover pocket. Its survival is an important point of completeness, since these removable maps are frequently missing from otherwise intact copies. ALSO INCLUDED: A related National Geographic folding map titled Vacationlands of the United States and Southern Canada, copyright 1966. This second map was added by a previous owner at a later date and was not originally issued with the 1959 book. It is included as complementary vintage National Geographic cartographic ephemera. Bound in decorative green cloth with darker green spine and an Old Faithful geyser design on the front board. Book is in Very Good condition overall, with clean, bright and vividly illustrated pages; light exterior wear; and some visible wear at the lower inner binding/gutter. Original pictorial dust jacket is present but in Fair condition, showing substantial rubbing, edge wear, tears, creasing, chipping and areas of paper loss, particularly along the upper rear portion and extremities.
