Cloth. Condición: Very Good. L.P Robert; W. Seaby; O. Murray Dixon; W. Austen; G.E. Lodge; A Thorburn; Collingwood Ingram Ilustrador. First edition. Collingwood Ingram provides a comprehensive catalogue of the birds of the Riviera in this very scarce work Collingwood Ingram's first publication on the birds in the Cote D'Azur, from the Esterel Mountains to the Italian Frontier. With 6 plates, collated and complete. Much like an ornithological encyclopaedia, this very scarce work lists and describes the plumage and distinctive characteristics of birds found in the Riviera. Ingram was a British ornithologist and plant collector, who became an authority on Japanese flowering cherries later on in his life, earning him the nickname Collingwood 'Cherry' Ingram. Prior owner's ink inscription to the title page - R. F Sale. In the publisher's original red cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. A little rubbed to the boards with some discolouration of the cloth to the spine and the front joint. Lightly bumped to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Aside from some light foxing to the front and rear of the book, pages are bright and clean. Very Good. book.
