The Royal Historical Society (and its predecessor body, the Camden Society) has since 1838 published editions of sources on British History. It is a very good collection of editions of sources and important unpublished texts for historians, with expert commentary, and many of the early volumes remain in regular use. The publication is on-going (two volumes per annum), and the volumes are currently published by Cambridge University Press. The series now comprises over 325 volumes.…

Yellowing and foxing to inside front and back covers, ffep's, bfep's and text. Text has very light marking in pencil with only marked pages found. For its age the text is still in good condition. Frontispiece of Shakespeare has moderate foxing. includes "a history of the stage, a life of the poet, and an introduction to each play: the text of the plays corrected by the manuscript emendations contained in the recently discovered folio of 1632. To which are added glossarial and explanatory notes, and notes to the emendations, containing the readings of former editions by John L. Jewett." All books are individually examined and described.
