Dieses ist ein höchst außergewöhnliches US-Kinderbuch, welches kurz nach Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges entstanden ist. Die Illustrationen stammen von Kindern aus Usbekistan. Es findet sich ein Nebeneinander von Kriegsszenen und Alltagsbildern, die z.B. einen Kinobesuch oder die Apfelernte wiedergeben. In einem Vorwort wird dem "Council of American-Soviet Friendship" für die Mitarbeit gedankt. Mit Beginn des "kalten Krieges" ab 1947 wäre eine derartige Publikation vermutlich undenkbar gewesen.-Der Schutzumschlag ist nur noch fragmentarisch erhalten.
