Hardcover. Condición: Good. 1st Edition. 'A Shillingsworth of Sugar-Plums' by Adelaide Claxton published at The "Judy" Office. Bound together with 'Diprose's Annual Book of Fun Facts and Fiction' publihsed by Diprose and Bateman in 1877. The books are very good, although there are no outer wrappers bound in. Bound in plain cloth with gilt lettering to the spine. Some wear and splits to the spine with minor fading.

Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. From wikipedia: "Adelaide Sophia Claxton (10 May 1841 ? 29 August 1927)[1] was a British painter, illustrator, and inventor. She was one of the first women artists to make a major part of her living through the commercial press, selling satirical and comic illustrations to more than half a dozen periodicals." This Claxton book is subtitled Several Hundreds of Num-nums and Nicy-nicies. Claxton did mostly illustrations for periodicals - she only produced two books which are quite rare. This book is filled with her often comic illustrations. Is this a first edition? The second author, Ross, has a preface dated 1875. That is the only date in the book. With a lot of searching of the internet we found an image of a different title page - the different one is in color and lacks the subtitle Several Hundreds of Num-nums and Nicy-nicies. The color title page looks like it might be from a soft cover edition, but that is not clear. The book is half leather on brown cloth. The spine has five hubs and a label. Corners and extremities are quite worn but the binding is very solid. Full refund if not satisfied.
