John Churchman (1705-1775) was a traveling Quaker minister who lived in Nottingham, Chester County in eastern Pennsylvania. "An Account of the Gospel Labours." is an autobiographical account of his life and ministry in that area. The importance of the work is less that of a religious tract than of descriptions of American life before the Revolution and with Churchman's interactions with the local Native Americans.
