Einbanddeckel bestoßen an den Ecken, hier und da leicht fleckig. Vorsätze und im Schnitt etwas stockfleckig. Alle Seiten im Inneren mit einer leichten Knickspur in den beiden Ecken, ausserdem einige der Tafeln mit einem Einriss oder einer Fehlstelle im unteren Eck. Ansonsten sehr sauber und vollständig. Chinnery war 1924-1932 der 'Government Anthropologist' von Neuguinea. Seine jeder für sich sehr seltenen 'Reports' sind sehr gesuchte ethnologische Werke, die durch Detailreichtum und sehr gute Ausstattung mit vielen Fotografien auf Kunstdruckpapier auf sich aufmerksam machten.
