Chesterman (1894-1983) was a medical missionary for the Baptist Missionary Society that served in Yakusu, Belgian Congo. Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965) had a multifaceted career as a theologian, philosopher, musician, and humanitarian. He gained renown for his groundbreaking work as a medical missionary in Africa, founding a hospital in Gabon to serve the local population. Schweitzer's philosophy of "reverence for life" and his commitment to alleviating human suffering earned him the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952. On the Edge of the Primeval Forest by Albert Schweitzer, from the library of Dr. Clement C. Chesterman. (ilustrador). Signed.
