The author was the Editor of the antiques department for the New York Sun, 1929-1950, a Lecturer on antiques and cultural history, and the Antiquarian editor New York World -Telegram and Sun since 1950. This book describes a cryptic mark found on British pottery and silver. It was registered in the British Patent Office in two forms and used from 1842 to 1883.
