Ad esempio, nel descrivere la generazione dei minerali, segue da vicino Aristotele, ma cita anche Teofrasto, Avicenna, Alberto Magno, Agricola, Gregorius Reisch, Plinio, Boodt, Francis Rueus, Marbodio, la Bibbia, e numerosi Padri della Chiesa.
