Octavo; 167 pages. Black and white illustrations throughout. Illustrated dust jacket over yellow and blue cloth-covered spine with dark blue and gilt lettering. Jacket shows light wear to spine ends and corners, with a small closed tear at top back and a quarter-sized magenta sticker affixed to rear panel. Boards lightly worn at spine ends and corners. A couple nicks and smudges to text block, but overall a clean, sound copy of the Laighton's letters centering around life in the Isles of Shoals in the latter half of the 19th century.
