William Caxton c. 1421 - 1491 | A Caxton Exhibition Catalogue Issued by the States of Jersey Library Service on the 500th Anniversary of the Introduction of Printing to Great Britain
William Caxton (c. 1421 - 1491) was an English merchant, diplomat, and writer. He is thought to be the first person to introduce a printing press into England, in 1476, and as a printer was the first English retailer of printed books. [Hans Peter Kraus (October 12, 1907 - November 1, 1988), also known as H. P. Kraus or HPK, was an Austrian-born book dealer described as "without doubt the most successful and dominant rare book dealer in the world in the second half of the 20th century"].
