Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: Very Good. Wrappers. 8vo, 120 pp. Very good copy, covers slightly chipped. Privately printed memoir. Dr. Casper was a renowned urologist who had a clinic in Berlin. He was born in 1859 and left Germany when the Nazis came to power, first settling in France and the United States, resuming his practice (!) in New York. He died at age 100. This memoir appeared when the author was in his 90s. Fascinating look at the life and experiences of this Jewish-German doctor through times of great turmoil. In German; includes in English introductory remarks made at a dinner in honor of his 90th birthday and an address by Casper on the same occasion, "Reflections on the History of Medicine." Scarce. Only two copies in German libraries; due to its having been printed in Germany and in 1951, it is out of the scope of the major exile collections (Frankfurt, Leipzig), although in content it is certainly exile literature. Broschiert. Privatdruck.
