Widmung des Übersetzers Jean de Carro: "à Madame la comtesse Rosalia Rzewuska de la part du Traducteur". Der Arzt Jean de Carro (1170-1857) entstammte einer angesehenen Genfer Familie. Er führte 1799 zum ersten Mal auf dem europäischen Festland erfolgreich an seinen beiden Söhnen eine Pockenschutzimpfung mit Kuhpockenlymphe durch und wurde dafür von Kaiser Franz I. in den Adelsstand erhoben. Die Widmungsempfängerin Aleksandra Franciszka Rzewuska (Spitzname Rosalia), geb. Lubomirska (1788-1865) war die Tochter des Prinzen Aleksander Lubomirski (1754-1804) und der Rozalia Chodkiewicz (1768-1794), die wegen angeblicher Spionage während der französischen Revolution hingerichtet wurde. Rosalia Rzewuska war Mitglied des bis heute bestehenden Sternkreuzordens, sie war "[.] eine der thätigsten Förderinnen des Vereins der adeligen Damen, der unter anderem den wesentlichsten Antheil an der Gründung des Marienspitals in Baden bei Wien hat, wo die Gräfin als Oberin der daselbst befindlichen Filiale dieses Vereins ungemein viel Gutes that." (Wurzbach). Es ist anzunehmen, dass sie mit Jean de Carro persönlich näher bekannt war. So verfasste de Carro für den "Almanach de Carlsbad" für das Jahr 1854 etwa einen Beitrag "Mes relations avec quatre célébrités", darunter auch Rosalia Rzewuska. Gewicht in Gramm: 500.
