Aucun exemplaire au CCF ni au CCI. Le titre se réfère à la Grammatica arabica de Thomas Van Erpe [= Erpennio en italien], parue à Leyde en 1613. Reliure en demi toile noire, dos lisse muet et restauré, plats de papier marbré, ex-libris encollé sur un contreplat, reliure moderne. En 1861, le colonel Luigi Calligaris (1808-1870), qui avait été employé à partir de 1833 comme instructeur de l'armée beylicale de Tunisie, fut définitivement rapatrié en Piémont et, au su de ses compétences dans les langues orientales, fut nommé professeur d'arabe vulgaire à l'Université de Turin. Il conserva cette charge jusqu'à sa mort, contribuant à la diffusion des études orientalistes dans le jeune royaume d'Italie. Il alla même jusqu'à implanter à Turin une typographie dotée de caractères arabes et à y publier une revue dans cette langue, subventionnée par le gouvernement.
