NOTES: George Omerod (1785-1883) was a keen antiquarian and at the age of 23 started making a large collection of documents for his planned history of Cheshire. Born in Manchester and educated in Cheshire, in 1811 he purchased an estate near Chorlton,and the first edition of his great work was published in 1819. Although he left papers for a revised edition, access was not allowed to them by his family, so Thomas Helsby had to produce his revised edition independently. This is a VERY HEAVY set. Size: Folio.
