Introduction dates this reprint as 1847. However, W. Reeves started printing in the 1870s at the earliest. Therefore this is likely the 1908 reprint, as per Worldcat. Contains Parthenia, the first collection of music ever printed for the keyboard in England, in c. 1612.

Includes 8 works by William Byrd, Dr. John Bull and Orlando Gibbons and translated into modern notation for the piano ; newly edited by careful comparison with the original text of 1611 by Margaret H. Glyn, with original barring, accidentals and ornaments.

Condición: Fine. Recently rebound in quarter scarlet leather, matching red sides, gilt title to the spine. Folio 16'' x 11½''. The original edition engraved on copper plates by William Hole, was published in 1611. It was again printed from the same plates in 1613, with the addition of a dedication. Subsequent impressions (always from the original plates) appeared in 1635, 1650, and 1659. The Parthenia claims the merit of having been the first musical work printed from copper plates; and example that was generally followed, in regard to instrumental music, both in this country and on the continent. Contains half-title, title-page, facsimile page of the original from 1611, illustrated title-page, dedication, 3 page introduction with vignette above the first leaf, 50 pages of score. Just minor spotting to the introductory pages, otherwise in Fine condition, superb condition copy. Member of the P.B.F.A. SHEET MUSIC.
