Based on the 1951 novel by James Jones and the classic 1953 film, directed by Fred Zinnemann, about the men and families of G Company, 24th Infantry Division, statio…ned at Peal Harbor in late 1941. NBC aired the miniseries in three two-hour episodes over three weeks on February 14, 21, and 28, 1979, and was followed in 1980 by a weekly series which aired for 12 episodes from March 10, 1979 to August 16, 1980. In Part 1, Pvt. Robert E. Lee Prewitt is harassed into joining the company boxing team after vowing to never fight again, and 1st Sgt. Milt Warden begins an affair with Karen Holmes, the neglected wife of his commanding officer. Front wrapper integral with dedication page. 103 leaves, with last page of text numbered 100.
