The colorful dust jacket (protected by a removable mylar sleeve) is bright, but has several small edge chips reinforced with clear-tape. Bound in the original, pictorial tan boards, decorated in brown on the front cover and spine. Sharp corners. The full-color dust jacket art is unsigned, but according to Zeuschner is by C. Edmund Monroe, Jr. Cover art, and endpaper maps of Africa are by Rafael Palacios. There are 12 interior b/w illustrations by J. Allen St. John. The DJ illustration is by N C Wyeth. The chapter heading illustrations are by J Allen St John. The book is in very good shape with bright red boards and sharp black lettering.
