This adventurer, a popular speaker and lecturer, made the first complete canoe voyage of the Columbia River from British Columbia to the Pacific in 1925; he was also the first to navigate an inflatible rubber raft down the Colorado River and film it in "Conquering the Colorado," which won an Academy Award in 1939 for best short subject. Bold pencilled "Amos Burg / Astoria / Dec 7, '39" on a heavy stock 4½" X 2½" card. Near fine. Minor mounting traces on verso. Unusual vintage example from the height of his fame.
