Añadir al carritoSoftcover/Paperback. Condición: Very Good. Brian Buczak. The Lucy Stories. New York: Money for Food Press, 1985. Hand-stitched softcover. 22 pages.Edition 100. (Printed Matter's website says edition of 100, the 1989 Brian Buczak: Memorial Exhibition catalog says edition size unknown (approximately 50 copies). Very good. Closed t…ear front cover top middle. Light soiling to covers. Victorian illustration with handpainted gouache pasted in causing some wrinkling to contents page. The Lucy Stories is a hand-stitched paperback with printed collage pasted to front cover and a victorian illustration handpainted with gouache. Published to accompany a window installation at Printed Matter July 2nd-August 31st, 1985. In The Lucy Stories, Buczak pairs short vignettes of the 1980s New York art scene with Victorian drawings. The stories follow Lucy through her days as she shops, curates, and decides what's for dinner. Narrated with an Alice in Wonderland-like naivety, the sweetness barely masks Buczak's critical edge.Brian Buczak was an artist who paint, drew, published and collaborated with partner Geoff Hendricks, performed and did much else. He died of AIDS at age 33. In 2024, the Gordon Robichaux gallery and the Ortuzar Gallery collaborated on the first exhibition of his work since his memorial in 1989. Añadir al carritoEphemera. Condición: Near Fine. Rare Fluxus Artist's book gathering 36 important artists including Lawrence Weiner, Brian Buczak, Ray Johnson, Laurie Anderson, Geoffrey Hendricks, Nancy Spero, and Andy Warhol, among others.
