First U.S. ed.; translation of 1960 first edition in German; 457 p. on strong paper only mildly age-toned but with underlining by former owner, a clergyman; some foxing on front paste-down and facing page where probably a small pasted paper (1" x 1-1/2") was removed binding firm; in absence of d.j. the clean unfaded blue boards with clear gilt letltering have light bumping on corners and slight rubbing at crown and foot of spine.
