Slipcase with wear; light chipping to paper at extremities; faint dirtying from rubbing; paper age-toned, deepest at extremities. Although the slipcase shows wear, it has served its purpose admirably. The volume remains bright, tight, and clean; fine condition. Three-quarter bound in speckled crème paper boards, black leatherette backstrip; lettering in silver to spine; cartouche colour illustration at centre of top and bottom boards. All edges speckled. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown. Else internally fine. With an introduction by Van Wyck Brooks. Illustrated in colour by Valenti Angelo.
