This book investigates the comparative validity and certainty of physics and metaphysics by delving into the nature of their respective subject matters. Exploring the philosophies of notable thinkers past and present, including Newton, Leibnitz, and Whewell, the author argues that while the laws of physics govern the relative, the conditioned, and the mutable, metaphysics deals with immutable and necessary truths. Taking a deeper dive into the properties and laws belonging to each, the author demonstrates that absoluteness and certainty are to be ascribed to the latter and not the former. This insightful analysis offers a fresh perspective on the nature of scientific knowledge, shedding new light on the relationship between physics and metaphysics and emphasizing the enduring significance of these fields in our understanding of the world. Its rigorous examination will appeal to scholars, students, and anyone eager to explore the frontiers of human knowledge and the nature of reality itself. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. The author draws upon newly available materials to paint a portrait of Lasco as a dedicated reformer who favored a more moderate and conciliatory approach than many of his peers. The author traces Lasco's journey from his early life in Poland, through his studies in Europe, to his work as a reformer in East Friesland and England. The book highlights Lasco's contributions to the Protestant Reformation, his efforts to promote Christian unity, and his commitment to a more tolerant and inclusive form of Christianity. Overall, this book provides a fascinating look at the life and work of a significant figure in the history of the Protestant Reformation. Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Fine- for age. 1st Edition. Dark brown cloth binding with black ruled lines and gilt spine lettering, clean and unworn. Black end-papers, t.p.+xiii+170+ 37 (November 1883 pub. catalogue); early faint sig. plus illegible short inscription across top t.p., quite inoffensive, hair-crack to lower front gutter of little consequence, short tear to bottom inner corner of one leaf now closed with tear-repair tape, have erased a number of faint marginal pencil lines and underlining but some probably remain which can be easily dealt with, faint edge tanning and feels just a tad shaken though seems firm enough. These faults, all quite minor, sound worse for being honestly described, in fact the Fine- for age rating does seem justified. A very acceptable copy of this scarce work. 13 cm x 19 cm.
