Drawings by Major Benton Fletcher, an artist and travel writer, who is best known for his significant collection of early keyboard instruments. Collated, complete. Spanning the years of 1659 through to 1669, these volumes compile the private writings of influential 17th-century figure Samuel Pepys. An important author, politican and collector in his time, Pepys's diaries are what he is most remembered for today. The detail of the works have cemented them as an invaluable historical source, providing insight into Restoration England and significant events such as the Great Plague and the Great Fire of London.
